At Vetti Split Veterinary Hospital, we perform dental examinations and procedures for dogs and cats – from preventive examinations and tartar removal to more complex surgical procedures in the oral cavity.
Dental examination and treatment
Dental diseases are one of the most common type of diseases in pets. Dogs most often come in for bad breath and tartar, while cats often have problems related to chewing, drooling and avoiding food.
A detailed dental examination is performed under inhaled general anaesthesia, in order to make the examination and procedure painless and safe. Before anaesthesia, our team carefully prepares the patient and explains the entire procedure to the owner. During the procedure, the teeth and gums are examined for caries, fractures, tooth wear and periodontal diseases.
Depending on the results, dental treatment may include:
- ultrasonic tartar removal,
- extraction of damaged teeth,
- treatment of periodontal diseases,
- removal of formations in the oral cavity,
- and educating owners on oral hygiene and prevention.
Our goal is to help you identify the first signs of dental problems and prevent their progression – because a healthy mouth means a healthy body.
Dental X-ray
A dental X-ray provides a detailed insight into the condition of the root of the tooth and surrounding structures that are not visible to the naked eye. The imaging is performed under short-term anaesthesia, which ensures a still position and accurate results without causing stress for the pet. With this procedure, it is possible to detect hidden inflammation, bone loss, cysts or tumours in a timely manner and start treatment in time.
Oral cavity health is the foundation of your pet’s high quality of life – a life without pain, a good appetite and a smile that reflects their well-being.
