The Vetti Split Veterinary Hospital has a modern diagnostic laboratory which enables fast and accurate analysis of blood, urine, and other biological samples.
Thanks to modern devices and a professional team, the results are quickly available, which enables timely diagnosis and start of treatment.
What our laboratory tests include
- Complete blood count (CBC) – assessment of general health and detection of infections, anaemia or inflammation.
- Biochemical analyses – liver, kidney and pancreatic function tests, analysis of glucose, electrolytes, thyroid hormones, bile acids, ammonia and other important diagnostic parameters.
- Rapid blood tests – for detecting tick-borne and infectious diseases in dogs and cats.
- Urine and faeces analyses – to assess the functioning of the urinary and digestive systems (certain tests are sent to external laboratories).
- Microscopic analyses – detailed examination of cells and microorganisms, useful for inflammation, skin and parasitic diseases (some samples are taken at the hospital, while for some analyses the client delivers the sample directly to partner laboratories according to the veterinarian’s instructions)
- Genetic tests – in cooperation with specialized laboratories, we conduct DNA testing of the breed and genetic tests that can help prevent hereditary diseases.
- Blood typing – determining the blood type of dogs and cats, which is especially important when planning transfusions and surgeries.
By combining laboratory and imaging methods, our veterinarians can accurately determine the cause of the disease and choose the best treatment.
