Orthopedics

Orthopaedic problems in dogs and cats are often the result of trauma, ligament injury or joint disease, and can significantly affect mobility and quality of life. At Vetti Split Veterinary Hospital, we perform orthopaedic examinations, diagnostics and surgical procedures with the aim of restoring your pet’s normal functions and painless movement.

Orthopaedic surgery includes procedures on bones, joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments. We most often encounter bone fractures and ligament ruptures, but also a number of other conditions that require accurate diagnosis and planned treatment. With the help of X-ray and CT diagnostics, our veterinarians accurately determine the location and extent of the injury and choose the optimal therapy.

The services we provide

  • Orthopaedic examinations and consultations – detailed assessment and advice on problems of the locomotor system.
  • X-ray and CT diagnostics – precise visualization of internal structures to make an accurate diagnosis.
  • Orthopaedic surgery, including:
    • bone fracture repair,
    • correction of patellar luxation (kneecap displacement),
    • TPLO (tibial plateau leveling osteotomy) for anterior cruciate ligament rupture,
    • JPS (juvenile pubic symphysiodesis) for hip dysplasia in puppies,
    • DPO (double pelvic osteotomy),
    • and other specialized orthopaedic procedures.

After surgery, pets requiring additional recovery remain in the hospital until they are stabilized and ready to return home. Throughout the process, our team monitors progress, conducts follow-up examinations, and adjusts therapy as needed.

In our hospital, we make sure that every pet receives professional and compassionate care, from diagnosis to full recovery. Our goal is to give them a safe return to mobility, comfort, and an active, pain-free life.
