Physical examinations

At Vetti Split Veterinary Hospital, we conduct regular physical examinations of dogs and cats with the aim of early detection of diseases and monitoring their general health.
Preventive examinations allow us to react before symptoms appear, when the chances of successful treatment are highest.

Why are physical examinations important?

Many diseases in dogs and cats initially go unnoticed.
Thanks to a detailed clinical examination, laboratory analysis and imaging diagnostics (ultrasound, X-ray), a physical examination helps to identify:

  • heart problems in dogs and cats,
  • renal failure, which can be successfully controlled with a tailored diet and therapy,
  • tumours and other malignancies in their early stages,
  • and metabolic and endocrine disorders that may develop without visible signs.

Early detection of diseases allows us to prevent their progression and improve your pet’s quality of life.

Types of physical examinations

Examinations are tailored to the pets’ age and health needs, as the needs of puppies and kittens, adults and older animals differ significantly.

Dogs

  • puppies and dogs up to 1 year old
  • adult dogs from 1 to 7 years old
  • senior dogs (7+ years) – small and large packages

Cats

  • cats up to 7 years old – small and large packages
  • senior cats (7+ years) – small and large packages

Prevention as the best form of treatment

A physical examination is more than a routine check-up – it’s an investment in a long, healthy, and happy life for your pet.
Our role is to detect changes early and help you provide the care your pet deserves.
