Ultrasound and X-ray diagnostics

Accurate and timely diagnosis is the key to successful treatment. At Vetti Split Veterinary Hospital, we use ultrasound and X-ray diagnostics to detect the cause of your pet’s health problems quickly, accurately and painlessly.
Imaging methods allow us to see internal organs and bone structures, often with no need for invasive procedures.

Ultrasound – a painless insight into the state of the organ

Ultrasound is a non-invasive and safe method used to evaluate the organs in the abdominal cavity and the heart.
The abdominal ultrasound can be used to assess the structure and function of the liver, kidneys, spleen, bladder and digestive system, while the cardiac ultrasound (Color Doppler) is used to analyse the function of the heart valves and blood flow.

For ultrasound examination, the animal must be brought on an empty stomach, so that the contents of the stomach and intestines do not interfere with the display. Sedation is rarely required, and the examination is completely painless and well tolerated.

X-ray diagnostics – fast and accurate images of internal structures

X-rays allow us to see the bones, joints and internal organs in the chest or in the abdominal cavity.
The scanning only takes a few seconds, and our silent X-ray machine reduces stress in animals that are in pain, sensitive or have difficulty breathing.
In certain cases, such as orthopaedic examinations, mild sedation may be used to obtain a clearer and more stable image.

Combination of methods for full diagnostics

By combining ultrasound and X-ray diagnostics, our team gets a complete insight into the state of the body – which enables an accurate diagnosis and planning of the most appropriate treatment.
Our goal is for the diagnostic process to be fast, accurate, and stress-free, because a timely diagnosis will ensure the health and safety of your pet.
